The Benedictine School
Company Overview
The Benedictine School is a private residential school dedicated to the education of special needs children between the ages of 5 and 21.
Located on Maryland’s beautiful Eastern Shore in the town of Ridgely, it is within driving distance of Annapolis, Baltimore, Washington D.C. and the Philadelphia areas. Ridgely, MD is centrally located between the Chesapeake Bay and the Atlantic Ocean.
Notable Accomplishments / Recognition
This world-renown, private, residential school was founded in 1959 and since that time has educated and trained hundreds of special needs children so that they now lead productive and successful lives.
At The Benedictine School, we address the needs of the "whole person". In addition to educating and vocational training, the school provides services in Speech Language Pathology, Physical Therapy, Occupational Therapy and Counseling.
Once the students graduate from the School, they are placed in supervised work environments where they earn a weekly wage. When not working, the clients reside at one of 23 group homes located in Maryland and Delaware.
Under the direction of Scott Evans, Executive Director, and the excellent staff of The Benedictine School, special needs children are given the opportunity to become productive members of society.
Benefits
The work schedule is based on an 11 month school calendar which runs from late August through July 31. There are numerous breaks during the school year which provide the opportunity for relaxtion, family time or travel.
The annual salary is based on a 223 work day school year.
